If l have a choice of hospitals in the Philadelphia area, I prefer Abington.

It’s The Best Hospital(affiliated with Jefferson), not only in N Philadelphia, but around 3 states. They treat my mother, 94 as a human being and not just Medicare recipient who-must-have to die ones there benefits drained. Starting from Emergency room they follow through the hospital admission and didn’t stop until found the root of the problem and best treatment solution. Unfortunately I can’t say the same in regards of Nazaret hospital(part of Mercy group - Not to much Mercy;) ones they see elderly and get what they can get, they quick to offer there hospice as a Mercy Solution.

One of the physicians called in Dr Frances Clark who came late in the evening on a Saturday. He was most kind and gave me great insight to my eye problems. His dedication and kind bedside manner was very refreshing.

I have Abington Hospital several times. Whether having blood drawn, having an MRI, or entering through the ER, I have never experienced a wait that seemed long. Generally the staff have all been friendly, competent, and willing to help.

I recently had a very nice experience with this Hospital and particularly the eye department. I have a lot of chronic medical problems and have dealt with many doctors. While in the hospital my eye issues flared up and the doctor on call was not reachable.

The nursing staff and doctors are (almost) all great. Attentive, nice, caring. However, the communication between doctor and patient and hospital administration is lacking severely. Surgery being delayed 32 hours (while admitted to a hospital) because an additional MRI was needed is ridiculous. Having an MRI performed after having an ultrasound that provided the diagnosis is absurd. Having someone wake you up at 6am while drugged and try to explain this to you is asinine. Trying to delay solid food for nearly 24 hours after surgery is unnecessary. With this trip here, it feels like they were either a)trying to keep me here longer that necessary to put money in their pockets or b) completely out of sync as a hospital unit

Outstanding patient care. The nurses act as if you are their only patient and they go out of their way to make you feel special and important. I just had a hip replacement and would recommend this hospital to all my friends. Outstanding medical and patient care. . Medical staff is cream of the crop . No question is to much of a bother and these doctors are top in their field. My results were outstanding. You won't be disappointed with the medical team at Abington-Jefferson Health
